CABINET VISION ENGINEER
Effective communication is a crucial part of this position. Create and hand off production documents to fabrication staff, purchase materials, and communicate production sequence.
Support production staff throughout construction. Solve issues as they arise through supportive communication.
Track every open task until it is completed or handed off.
Read and Interpret shop drawings and architectural drawings.
Arrive to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time, and prepared for the task at hand.

Work proficiently in Autocad 2010 or later.
Work proficiently in Cabinet Vision 8.
Understand Object Intelligence, Reports, UCS’, and how to create unique parts and assemblies.
Optimize and list parts, use S2M to move information to automated machinery.
Some competency with CAM software is preferred.
Use Outlook to manage Email, Contacts and your schedule.
3 years minimum experience in a cabinet shop or millwork shop, working hands on.
2 years minimum experience in Cabinet Vision-based layout and purchasing.
Valid California Driver’s License
Your core role is to shepherd approved jobs through to production through Layout, Purchasing, and Production Documents. Your performance will be evidenced by how efficiently you process your workload and how well your jobs run through production.
Layout and Purchasing
Receive approved shop drawings, along with necessary design and fixture specifications. Check drawings for accuracy, and adjust them if needed.
Purchase long-lead time items and first-process items, to ensure that early machining production can begin quickly.
Input approved design in to Cabinet Vision, sometimes straight to CAM or through layer-defined AutoCad geometry.
Identify layout and assembly obstacles, and solve them with Production Manager, owner, or fabricators.
Order any remaining materials and subassemblies.
Produce Reports, organize with shop drawings for handoff to shop.
Optimize panel materials and export to CNC router.
Hand off the project to production staff.
Keep track of open Purchase Orders. Identify overdue orders and find out when they will arrive. Tell shop staff when delivery dates change.
Work with receiving staff to ensure that all items are free of defects, and delivered as specified.
Most of your time will be spent in an office within a cabinet shop.
Work inside the cabinet shop for meetings, to review production, and to occasionally work hands-on. The shop has loud noise most of the time.
Lift more than 50 pounds occasionally.
Sit for extended periods of time, and stand for extended periods of time.
Visit job sites or vendors occasionally, using your vehicle. We reimburse mileage for on-the-clock driving.
Work 40 hours per week with some overtime. 7:00-3:30, Monday through Friday.
Hourly wage to be determined, based on qualifications and experience
