Job Summary

This is a full-time position for an experienced Cabinet Maker. As a Lead Cabinetmaker, you take cut parts and drawings, and interpret the drawings to build projects. You usually have a helper, and you regularly go work on the Mill side of the shop to get all of the parts ready for your project. Your attention to detail and thorough detailing prepare your work for a beautiful finish and installation. Your complete labeling of parts and assemblies ensure that we transport and install our work efficiently. You go out to install on occasion. By directing your helper and showing her/him efficient process, you are key in growing the company and elevating the position of your helper.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain open lines of communication across all channels

  • Create and maintain a safe and efficient workspace

  • Meet company standards for quality and efficiency

  • Regularly handle your own projects in the shop, working with others when applicable

  • Safely use tablesaw, planer, jointer, shaper, ripsaw, handheld routers, and a multitude of other tools and equipment

  • Mill parts and assemble doors and other frames

  • Cut grain-matched panels on horizontal sliding tablesaw

  • Mill and cut cabinet parts and other parts from cut lists

  • Make cut lists

  • Assemble cabinets, door assemblies, paneling, and other wood projects

  • Follow shop drawings, and read shop drawings to answer your questions

  • Work in the field installing when needed

  • Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Reliable insured vehicle and tools

  • Knowledge of construction, cabinetry, and reading blueprints

  • Extensive cabinet making experience

  • Experience with demanding layout and intricate interface with other trades

  • Extensive knowledge of woodworking machinery

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus

You must be able to:

  • Visit job sites or vendors, using your vehicle or in company truck

  • Work overtime to meet project deadlines when needed

  • Lift 50 pounds frequently, additional with team assist

  • Sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, ascend, descend, push and/or pull for extended periods of time

  • Be exposed to noise, temperature changes, glues, varnishes, sealers, cleaners, and machinery with moving parts in the shop and job site environment
