Eby construction is a custom cabinetry shop located in Richmond, near the Bart Station. We specialize in high-end cabinetry and woodworking in both residential and commercial settings

What our woodworking technical designers do
• Use AutoCAD & Cabinetvision to generate shop drawings for Production casework and Fixture items
• Understand standard construction methods and coordinate product functionality with project managers to complement desired architectural design
• Troubleshoot potential constructability and usability problems while developing possible solutions
• Manually take-off materials for other items such as countertops, specialty items, etc.
• Purchase sheet goods, lumber, standard hardware & specialty hardware
• Use field dimensions to calculate parts and cut lists along with CNC info
• Consider appliance/equipment sizes and clearances
• Clearly list cabinets, process reports and create complete packages for Production, Delivery and Install
What you need to know
• 2+ years of furniture or cabinet trade experience in a commercial, architectural millwork environment
• Production floor (“shop”) experience is preferred
• Working knowledge and understanding of drafting and layout of cabinet projects and millwork as well as integration with other products such as ornamental metal, stainless steel, wood, glass, stone and solid surfaces
• Working knowledge and understanding of workflow from fabrication to installation
• Strong aptitude with AutoCAD is required
• Cabinetvision and WoodCad/Cam experience a plus
• Knowledge of 3-d modeling – Sketchup or Solidworks or Rhino – highly desired
• Proficiency with Excel or Google sheets is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
